We partner with local organizations to develop environmental champions who are informed and engaged in climate change and clean transportation solutions.
Through SDG&E's signature Environmental Champions giving initiative, our investments empower environmental organizations to focus on mission-critical work around climate literacy, urban greening and clean transportation.
SDG&E supports close to 100 environmental organizations that inform and inspire the public to take action to protect our planet from future environmental and climate impacts.
- SDG&E has contributed 10+ years of consecutive giving, including more than $11 million in investments for environmental projects.
- In 2022, SDG&E grant funding enabled organizations to plant more than 1,000 trees.
SDG&E Partners to Preserve Local Environment for Future Generations
SDG&E employees regularly volunteer their time for various projects in our local communities, which range from restoring habitats for endangered species to building school gardens and installing solar panels for low-income residents.
Keeping with tradition – 21 years and counting – more than 200 volunteers with Team Sempra/SDG&E recently joined the state’s largest volunteer event of the year: I Love A Clean San Diego’s 38th annual Coastal Cleanup Day.
