Emergency Customer Protections

SDG&E has activated emergency protections to help residential and business customers in our service area who have been impacted by the storm. Unless otherwise noted, these protections will be in effect through January 23, 2025:

  • Billing may be paused for customers whose homes have been destroyed or are deemed uninhabitable.
  • Disconnections due to non-payment may be suspended for customers that have been severely impacted by the storm.
  • Impacted customers will be granted expedited move-in and move-out service requests.
  • During the protected time, SDG&E will not ask CARE, FERA and Medical Baseline customers to recertify or verify income and will not drop them from their  programs.

Avoid Scams & Fraud

During scary times, scams aimed at utility customers increase. We urge you to call us at 1-800-411-7343 if you are worried about any emails or calls you receive from people claiming to be with SDG&E. We will never call you or email you to demand payment and threaten to disconnect your service if payment isn’t received immediately. Click here for tips on how to spot a scam.

Report Storm Damages

Residents and businesses are encouraged to report their storm-related damages using the County of San Diego’s damage assessment survey (disponible en español). The information gathered in this survey will help the County assess the extent of local impacts and advocate on behalf of the community for state and federal assistance. (NOTE: Completing this form does not guarantee you will be eligible for disaster relief assistance and is not a substitute for submitting a claim with your insurance).
